Swingtime

Our new lot next door has a couple of outstanding features, an the cluster of large live oak trees at the top of the hill is my favorite.  Luckily this tree has a great horizontal branch about 20 feet in the air which made it the perfect place to hand a swing for the grandkids.  Unfortunately, 20 feet in the air seems a lot higher than that when you are the one 20 feet up trying to install it.  

Here is the finished product, finished except for the notable lack of a grandkid on it.  That should happen soon sometime  during spring break when it will get its first real test.

 

Here is the few from the swing looking straight up, which is really magical on a nice day with the clouds slowly drifting by.  Even more magical to be enjoying it with others.
