A Solid Foundation

A milestone completed. The foundation concrete was poured Friday, and since temperatures are in the 30's and 40's it will be some time before it is really hard. That big block jutting out on the left is the front porch. Standing on top and looking at the view makes it easy to imagine it complete. I can see us sitting in a comfy couch and looking out the big windows... but I'm getting a little ahead of myself since it will be years before it is all built. For now, I'm looking forward to house framing beginning in one week. And I'm anxious to get up on the second floor and see the view from there for the first time. This feels a lot like waiting for Santa to come when I was a kid!
