Faux ruins

Yeah, this re-creation of Roman ruins in Round Top, a few hours from Wimberley, may be a little... well, overdone. Still, it provides some more inspiration for that backyard feature I'm thinking of for the Wimberley house. Something to hide the rainwater collection system and create a private area with a sense of place. I especially like the climbing vines covering the middle section of the wall. The stone columns creating the entry gate also give it a nice, defined way to enter. So, I'll try to design something more on a residential scale, while having a little fun implementing some of the ideas from this steroid-injected monument to masonry.
