Rolling happily along

It was so wonderful to have Alex visiting us in Wimberley last weekend.  Here he is posing beside our  completed construction project for this visit- installing the very last doors in the house.  They are a set of sliding closet doors in the guest bedroom.  We installed the glide hardware, stained the door panels, cut in their cute little bronze recessed handles, and spent hours shimming and getting all the surrounding trim PERFECT (or close enough to perfect) and plinking them in place with a finish nailer.

Aside from making Alex work for his room and board, we spent time visiting with Ernie and Mary Ann, eating at local restaurants, and going down to the Blanco River for a picnic with Ginny and Luke.  Good times!

Leaping Lizards II

Alex is going to be visiting next weekend, which prompted me to remember that I had not posted all the lizard photos form his his last visit.  I still haven't dug into the critter books to see exactly what kind of lizard this is, but it shouldn't be a problem to find out since they are ALL OVER the place. I've also seen several with racing stripes, which must work because I have not been able to catch up to them.

Bugged

Spring time always brings out the bugs around our Wimberley home, and this weekend we saw tons of them.   Here are a couple of unusual ones that we were able to photograph.

Photo Opportunity

Nearly five years after our wedding we now have enough bookcase space to display those and other photos.  And little enough dust and debris from construction activities that they can be displayed pretty much care-free!
