More Precious Braden Pics

A few more pics from Braden's first solo trip to Wimberley this summer.

Inspecting Paw-Paw's trim work
Not sure trying to catch minnows with no net is a good idea!
Braden Congrove, world champion parachute-man flinger
Hmmm... not sure which one of them has more muscle...

Ann's Reading Nook

When we were designing our fairly small and very open Wimberley home, we decided to create a little getaway space specifically for Ann.  And it is finally just about done, shown here with Ann giving it a test sit just after I installed the seat cushion.  The final touch will be a small bookshelf just to the right of the photo.  So if anyone is wondering where Ann is, you might want to check da nook.

Spiked

Most problems in life can be solved with duct tape, at least for a while.  Hole is a radiator hose? Duct tape.  Mail box coming off its post? Duct tape.   Noisy neighbor? You guessed it, duct tape.

I had a problem with birds landing on this floodlight and doing what birds do after they eat.  Could have ordered some of that fancy-smancy bird spike material to keep them off.  But why do that when all it takes is a few inches of duct tape (plus a few inverted roofing nails) to do the job? I just stuck the nails through the sticky side of the tape before adhering it against the curved top of the fixture.  Bird-B-Gone for maybe five cents worth of duct tape.

Warning for children:  Do not try this at home to deter siblings from sitting in that favorite spot of yours.

Dino Days

A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far, far away (Wimberley), dinosaurs roamed the earth.   Our backyard is now home to this sorta Zombi-Stegosaurus, maybe a Zombisaurus, or maybe just ZS for short.  And he/she appears to be crawling up toward the house from our little creek, no doubt after finishing off a long drink in the pond during our nasty heat wave.  Rumors are that his arch enemy T-Rex is soon to be arriving at the Wimberley shop where ZS came from, and could be joining him in our backyard this summer...
